Football Heads: 2019-20 Italy (Serie A)

There are 20 teams participating in the championship just like it was before. Empoli, Frosinone, and Chievo have dropped out of the league this season. They were replaced by Brescia, Lecce, and Hellas Verona. Juventus, which won the previous season, is trying to defend its title again.

Some of the transfers that took place this season:

• Romelu Lukaku becomes a part of Inter leaving Manchester United;
• Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Arsenal) becomes a Roma player;
• legendary Franck Ribéry became a Fiorentina player;
• Mauro Icardi left Inter with a scandal and became a PSG player;

Juventus won the championship for the 9th time in a row. It has been a challenging season for all teams and their fans since COVID started in 2020.

Italy will be represented in the 2020-21 Champions League by Juventus, Internazionale, Atalanta and Lazio.
